Demonstrating a skill and passion for merging digital and chemical processes, 'Flourish' represents my continuing experimentation in the field of platinum printing. By combining the power of digital capture with the exceptional tonal qualities and archival nature of a platinum print, I hope to preserve the perishable beauty of my subjects. Printed by hand using a mixture of cutting edge materials, one hundred year old chemical processes and exotic paper, the resulting image is as unique as the flower it portrays.

As a photographer working predominantly with digital camera systems, I am motivated by an overwhelming desire to produce a beautiful, physical object as the end result of any computer assisted efforts. I find the prospect of using a myriad of techniques, both modern and traditional, to achieve this aim incredibly exciting. And, whilst many of these processes are highly experimental in nature, I feel that their mastery will endow my final prints with a level of craftsmanship that is often missing in our age of mass production.
