TV is enough

In this project I wanted to explore the effect that television has on different people, looking into the way that people use television to escape from everyday life. I created the final images using digital manipulation to demonstrate a blur between reality and fiction. I believe that the domination of televised media in western society has taken focus away from other outlets such as literature and the arts. This generation has grown up with a blinkered view of the world today as they struggle to form their own opinions when bombarded with television twenty-four hours a day.

"Those who tell the stories hold the power in society. Today television tells most of the stories to most of the people, most of the time." - George Gerbner

In my general practice, my main interest lies within travel and landscape work and I have recently been experimenting with panoramic imagery. I have recently undertaken more work in the studio which I hope to build on in the future.
